Sonja Greenway

Principal

I am originally from the Midwest; I grew up in Iowa, but have been in Colorado since 1991. I earned my bachelor's degree in English and Anthropology from Luther College, my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at CU Boulder, and received my principal’s license through CSU Global. I love the mountains and this community. What a place to live and work!

I have served the district for over 25 years, first teaching 6th and 8th grade language arts, later as a literacy interventionist, and most recently as an instructional coach. I’m honored to serve my EPMS family as their principal and look forward to helping to make this an exceptional year.

Our students are the most important members of our learning community, and I want to ensure that we see, hear, listen to, and value each one of them. These middle school years are critical and will have a lasting impact on their growth and development as learners and as human beings.

Our district vision promises that we provide Excellent Educational Experiences for Every Student, Every Day, and I promise to ask myself every day if we are accomplishing this in the middle school.

My head, heart and hopes are with all members of this school community, and I am privileged to work with such a dedicated, collaborative and innovative team of students, educators, parents and community members.  My mission is to continue to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement to promote both growth and achievement for all of our students.

It truly is good in the middle!

“Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.“ – Marian Wright Edelman

Mary Barron

Assistant Principal

I'm very excited to be with the middle school this year! I have been working in the field of public education for approximately 25 years and love it every single day! Estes Park has been my home for about 8 years now and I would be outside all of the time if I could. I have two daughters - one who will be senior at EPHS and one who just turned 20 and is studying nursing. I look forward to getting to all the middle school students and parents - please come in and say hello whenever you can.
